About

I’ve been obsessed with fashion for as long as I can remember. I love putting outfits together in different ways to express individuality and make life more fun and interesting. When I was young, I always ventured into my mom’s closet - she had so many silk dresses, accessories and pointed toe stilettos. I also loved to go in my grandmother’s “dressing room” - it had a golden peach vibe with lots of nail polishes, perfumes and mirrored hair brushes. As I grew up, I would read Vogue, work in various retail stores and never turn down an opportunity to go out and dress up. I’ve always had some element of fashion embedded in my life and have been the “go to” style advisor for all my friends. When I went to university for both a business and an arts degree, I didn’t know exactly what the outcome would be, but I knew it had to be fashion related.

Meet Kristina

Fast forward to now, I have made a career at a fashion retail head office for the past 10 years (where I am a buyer and did visual merchandising and marketing). All this fashion knowledge and passion made me want to help other people with their style. Enter, Style by K.P. Despite a common misconception that people in the fashion industry only like expensive brands, we are actually just good at putting things together and finding great deals and hook-ups. That’s part of the art of fashion - you don’t have to spend a fortune to have great style. And that’s what I do for people: help them find something they’re comfortable wearing at an affordable price, whether it be from a retailer or their own closet.

So why Style by K.P.? Simply put, it’s my initials and what my closest friends from home call me - home is Newfoundland, where I was born and raised (I now live in Montreal and go home often). I’m a sucker for any kind of animal (mainly my dog), love tea, and I also love tea (a lot). Aside from styling, my interests vary in the sense that you will either find me at the newest restaurant eating seafood with a dirty martini, shopping for cutesy house things, or back home in my dad’s fishing boat, “cod jigging”. These are the kinds of topics I’ll talk about in my blog, along with lots of style tips! You can check out my services in the menu above and follow my Instagram page for updates.
